Yes, we've heard it all. From 2 year-old toddlers to elderly men, from moms, teenagers, friends, family and strangers. Yes, we know it's THAT good.
It all started with my sister’s recipe. She’s a Michelin-trained pastry chef and the owner of Dolce e Salato, a cookie shop in Hangzhou. Over the years, she perfected this cookie, I've baked it for years and years, making my own adjustments, and now I get to share it through Butter + Bow.
Today, it’s become our signature. The cookie people remember, text us about days later complaining about expanding waistlines and self-control. Moms hide them from their children. One farmer's market customer told us that she had purchased them as a gift but ate them in the car instead. And it’s not because it’s huge, trendy cookie - it’s because it’s balanced, thoughtful, and built around ingredients that speak for themselves.
What It Tastes Like
It’s crisp on the edges and chewy in the center, with this rich, almost caramelized flavor that comes from deeply browned butter. There’s a nuttiness to it, not overpowering, just enough to give it depth.
The chocolate is slow-melting and generous. We use Guittard super cookie chips, so instead of little dots of sweetness, you get soft, melty pockets that add richness without making it too sweet.
And the salt. Flaky Maldon sea salt, scattered across the top — crisp, clean, and just enough to cut through the richness and bring everything into balance.

A cookie is only as good as the components it starts with. For us, that means using high quality ingredients that we feel good about and proud to highlight.
Brown Butter
We brown the butter slowly to bring out a deep, nutty flavor. It adds richness and a slightly toasted note that makes the base of the cookie taste warm and layered, even before anything else is added.
Guittard Super Cookie Chips
These oversized, high-quality chips melt slowly and stay soft. The chocolate is rich and smooth, and because they’re larger than standard chips, you get these gooey pockets that feel like you’re biting into something truly indulgent.
Maldon Sea Salt
Flaky, clean, and just a little crisp. We finish each cookie with a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt to balance the sweetness and brighten the flavor. It’s the final detail that makes the cookie feel complete.
A Few Tips
These cookies are best enjoyed within 1 to 2 days of receiving them. If you need to hold onto them longer, we recommend freezing them to preserve the texture and flavor. Let them come to room temperature, or warm them gently in the oven to bring back the soft center and crisp edge.
