Some of my earliest memories of gifting weren’t about the gift itself but about the moment it created.
I grew up watching my mom run her own business, carefully crafting essential oils and aromatherapy products. She wasn’t just making things—she was creating experiences, small rituals that transformed an ordinary moment into something special. I saw how much care she put into every detail, how she anticipated what someone might need before they even knew themselves. Her ability to make people feel seen and cared for through her work shaped the way I see gifting today.
That love of creating something meaningful has always stayed with me. Whether it was planning events, curating gifts, or baking thousands of cookies out of my tiny NYC apartment, I was always looking for ways to craft the perfect moment—one that felt effortless yet special. Since moving to Westchester, that love has only grown. Now, we’ve made tens of thousands of cookies, each one designed to bring warmth, joy, and connection.
As a busy mom with young kids, I know firsthand how hard it is to think of just one more thing. Another birthday, another thank-you, another hostess gift—what do you bring that feels thoughtful but easy, special but not overcomplicated?
I’ve been there, standing in the kitchen late at night, trying to figure out what to send a friend who’s going through a hard time. I’ve felt the last-minute stress of trying to find something unique for a teacher, a neighbor, a client—someone I truly appreciate but don’t know well enough to pick out something deeply personal. I wanted to give something that felt like more than an obligation, something that felt like it had care behind it, but without spending hours searching for the perfect option.
That’s why I created Butter + Bow: to take the guesswork out of gifting while making it feel just as thoughtful and intentional as if you had crafted it yourself.
Gifting should be easy. It should feel as special to give as it does to receive. It shouldn’t be an afterthought or something stressful—it should be a moment of delight, a way to make someone feel truly appreciated. Whether it’s a box of warm brown butter chocolate chip cookies that feels like a hug, a Reset Kit to remind someone to take a breath, or an elegantly wrapped package that makes an impression before it’s even opened, I wanted to create gifts that make people feel seen, appreciated, and cared for.
I believe that the best gifts are the ones that linger—the ones that make someone pause, take a breath, and savor a moment just for themselves. Maybe it’s a handcrafted treat that sparks nostalgia, or a small self-care ritual that turns an ordinary day into something special. Maybe it’s the feeling of knowing that someone took the time to choose something meaningful just for them.
Because when you give with intention, the gift isn’t just about what’s inside the box. It’s about the story it tells, the thought behind it, and the way it makes someone feel.
This is what gifting should be. This is why I started Butter + Bow.
And I can’t wait to help you create your next perfect gifting moment.
